From its early years at Le Crès to its integration into MHSC in 2001, Montpellier FC’s history has been shaped by women and men committed to the development of women’s football. Driven in particular by Colette and Louis Nicollin, the club established itself as a leading force in French football, with a strong focus on youth development, performance and player support. With a rich history of trophies and generations of outstanding players, Montpellier FC continues to carry this legacy forward today.

Montpellier-Le Crès is incorporated into Montpellier Hérault Sport Club and officially becomes its women’s team.

The first club in France to offer a professional contract to a female player.
THE START OF A LONG RUN
The beginning of 25 consecutive seasons in the top flight.
First French championship title
In 2004, MHSC’s women’s team won the first French championship title in its history, just three years after joining the club.
Second French championship title
MHSC’s women’s team retained its title, becoming French champions for the second consecutive year.
EUROPEAN SEMI-FINAL
Semi-final of the UEFA Women’s Cup.
First Women’s French Cup
MHSC’s women’s team won the first French Cup in its history, adding another trophy to its honours.
Second consecutive Women’s French Cup
MHSC’s women’s team retained the trophy, winning the French Cup for the second consecutive year.
Third Women’s French Cup
MHSC’s women’s team won its third French Cup, following its victories in 2006 and 2007.
First Women’s U19 National Championship title
MHSC’s women’s team won the Women’s U19 National Championship four times: in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2018.
Crux Football acquires MHSC Féminines
MHSC Féminines, previously owned by the Nicollin family, was acquired by Crux Football, marking a change of ownership and the beginning of a new chapter for the club.
MHSC Féminines becomes Montpellier FC
Following its acquisition by Crux Football, MHSC Féminines changed its identity to become Montpellier FC, marking a new chapter in its history and its independence from MHSC.
